Radio Frequency
Although radiofrequency energy has been used in surgery for over 70 years, recent developments in cryogenic and computer technology have made possible the selective delivery of energy to the deep dermis and sub-dermal layers while protecting the epidermis. Because no external wound is created, patients can return to normal activity "immediately".
The Accent system is the ONLY system on the market which provides two types of radio frequency technology: UniPolar and BiPolar. This Unique dual radio frequency technology, RF2, provides controlled volumetric tissue heating to two distinct depths of tissue. The BiPolar RF handpiece penetrates between 2 to 6 mm into tissue - reaching adipose tissue and cellulite. Heating to these tissue depths therapeutically improves local circulation, promotes fibrous tissue breakdown, and helps to manage areas subject to oedema by promoting the re-absorption and drainage of retained fluids and toxins.

The Unipolar handpiece is for deep, controlled radio frequency penetration enabling a rapid, safe, and effective treatment. Accent® RF technology may facilitate and enhance the breakup of adipose tissue; helping to mobilise and eliminate fat deposits - non-invasively. Accent® RF treatments can create dramatic change without the need for invasive surgery or even topical anaesthetics. An added benefit is that this is a no downtime therapy.
Both RF energies are delivered to tissue with continuous contact cooling which provides additional patient comfort and epidermal protection. RF skin tightening is the first, and currently only way to permanently tighten skin without surgical intervention, and without the associated expense and down time. The Accent procedure has an excellent safety record to date, and patients of all skin types can be treated.
A major drawback of RF skin tightening is normally discomfort during the procedure. Accent RF offers a technological breakthrough which means that both body and facial Accent RF treatments are discomfort free.
